The Tīrau Domain and its facilities are an important asset for the Tirau community and visitors alike. With a highly visible position on SH1 and a huge importance to the community as a place to connect and enjoy, its redevelopment required a fine balance of aesthetics, functionality and of course value.
Supported by the Tīrau Community Board and the wider community Ted’s team took the project successfully from community engagement right through to final delivery.
The conceptual landscape plan was brought to life over a period of six months and included connecting the site to various existing features via a network of paths and the construction of a playground, toilets, pump-track, car park and a hardstand market stall area.
Key stakeholders involved in the project included KiwiRail, Waka Kotahi, Raukawa, Department of Conservation, Waikato Regional Council, Council, Tīrau Community Board and local landowners and residents.
